LHASA, April 5, 2005 (Xinhua) -- A local Tibetan girl smiles as the
track-laying of the Qinghai-Tibet railway project comes into the suburbs of
Lhasa, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Linking Golmud in the
northwestern Qinghai Province and Lhasa, the 1,142-kilometers railway is
expected to open to traffic in 2007.
