NEW DELHI, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Sixteen people were killed and 28 injured when the bus in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Doda district of the India-controlled Kashmir area on Sunday.

　　According to the Press Trust of India, the bus sk idded while negotiating a curve possibly because of the slippery road.

　　A rescue team extricated the bodies and rushed the injured to the Doda district hospital. Some of the injured were stated in serious condition, local police said. End
